I just came across your site after seeing Henrik's blog for the first time. I'm floored at the amount of traffic and followers they both get! That's great they can spread positivity to such wide audiences. It's good to know there are people out there looking to focus on positive things.

Another great Face-Off!! Man, I can't tell you how much I enjoy these. I wish you could have a new one everyday.

I think one of the great points to take away from this one, and the others too actually, is that, if you start your blog about a topic that you're truly passionate about, it's not really work, and the readers will come. Provided you make an effort to generate quality content of course.

Weird though, bloggers that don't read blogs, go figure.

Thanks for including me Daniel. Seeing the answers, I too laughed at how similar Henrik and my answers were.

@Louis:

Thanks for your comments. I couldn't of said it better.

@Bilingual Blogger:

5 months was put down for "How long have you been blogging" since I stopped blogging for 2 months to go on vacation. I treat blogging as a hobby instead of a job. And you are right, retaining the subscribers while I was away was a little bit of a miracle. :) I am very grateful.

Working at amazon.com gives me zero advantage as far as writing or web marketing goes. Yes, it does give me a technical advantage and I can setup websites very quickly, but that's as far as that goes. I wished that I had "built-in audience of readers and tons of web contacts". To be frank, I had 36 subscribers who are friends, web contacts and family. Beyond that, was the effort of marketing myself online as disclosed in the problogger article.

And the last time I worked as an actor, was over 10 years ago when I was 17. Having a fan base would have been helpful, but I was a small time actor on local commercials in a different country.

@Adam Singer:

I was surprised to find that Henrik didn't follow any particular blogs. Most of my inspirations are from daily life, people, books and attending seminars on self-improvement. I also find that if I started to read many blogs, two things will happen: 1) My writing will start to sound like other people's 2) I won't have as much free time

I still occasionally read blog articles when people email them to me directly. And I almost never read word for word. Scan baby! Scan!
