Breaking the Digg Code

The guys from Invesp.com just released a special report titled “Breaking the Digg Code.” It is a small PDF with 21 pages, but packed with information about how to get your stories popular on Digg. In fact the tagline is: a step by step instruction to getting on the first page of Digg in four weeks or less.

I scanned through the report and the information seems to be solid. They have a nice step by step approach that you can follow easily. In order to get it you will need to subscribe to their blog either via RSS or email.

On a side note, remember that I don’t think you should try to game Digg or any other social bookmarking site. The problem is that sometimes even unique and quality content will get lost among the huge number of submissions that these sites get daily, so understanding how the system works can improve your chances or getting the deserved exposure.

Get all your friends to dig your content is one way of getting digg to work for you… I really hate dig …

Lex, this will rarely work these days. The algorithm is too complex and too many people are watching out.

nice find daniel. It certainly seems like you need to spend a lot of time to get to the front page. I think I’d go crazy if I spent 45 mins on Digg every day.

It’s sad that everywhere there are this tricks. The good contents get lost, this isn’t right.

I really doubt that this’ll work. Besides, if you get to the popular section of Digg, and you cheated your way up there, people will most likely bury you anyway.

I’m staying away from Digg anyway - too negative of a crowd for me.

yeah, digg is crowded, but then if youre gonna go to something that isnt much crowded then your story wouldn’t get much hyped.. But then its really really hard to get dugg ten thousand times..

I always work within the rules, these sites system are very clever and so many people want to trick it so the system has been perfected to take care of any hacks. I suggest posting quality content on digg or delicious, making good friends and then introducing your pages.

Siddharth, do you consider SEO to be within or outside the rules?

Daniel, thanks for mentioning the report.

@Chris Thomson no approach to Digg will work without good and solid content. However, good content will not go anywhere on Digg unless you are able to get enough diggs.

Breaking the way through digg is quite hard. You need to be a real social networker to do so. :)
