My KISSInsights Review
A couple of weeks ago Neil Patel approached me asking if I was interested in testing his new product, called KISSInsights. I have known Neil for a while, and he always comes up with top notch products and services, so I said “Sure.”
What is KISSInsights all about? It is an online tool that allows website owners (bloggers included) to survey and get feedback from their visitors and customers, by inserting a small widget at the bottom right corner of your website. Here is how it looks like:

Getting feedback from your visitors is one of the most important things can do, so I was curious to see how the tool worked.
Signing-up is easy, and the basic account is free, so you won’t need to pay anything. Once you are logged in you need to click on “Create Survey” to create your first survey. You’ll be presented with a list of pre-defined questions you can ask your visitors. Examples include “Do you have any feedback for us on this page?” and “What could we do to make this site more useful?”.
And here is the cool part. Once you select your survey question you’ll go to a page where you can specify exactly where and how the survey widget will be displayed. For example, you can display it only on specific pages, only to returning visitors, only to users who viewed at least two pages, only during specific dates and so on.

After you customize your survey you’ll get a code to be pasted on your site, and within minutes the widget should be working.
You guys might actually have seen the widget on Daily Blog Tips a couple of weeks ago. I was asking the following question: “What topics do you want to see covered on future posts?”. I got 66 responses during that week, and most of them were useful to help me understand what topics I should cover in future posts.
There was one surprise too: people will spam anything they can put their hands on these days! Some people answered the survey with things like “your girlfriend” and “sex.” And the best one: “NOW NOT ONLY DESIGN, ALSO GET YOUR WEBSITE ON 1ST PAGE OF GOOGLE YAHOO. GUARANTEED ON AFFORDABLE RATES IN INDIA. MORE DATAILS ? CALL+91 9999263896″.
The weird answers were the minority though. I would say that 95% of them were real comments from real readers.
Overall I really liked the tool. Apart from being easy to setup and use, the survey widget is not intrusive. Visitors who are not interested in answering it can minimize the widget and they won’t see it anymore.
I’ll keep using it whenever I am looking to get feedback from my visitors/customers. For example, I’ll be launching an ebook on one of my websites soon, and I’ll ask the visitors of the sales page what factor was holding them from buying the ebook.
Again, the basic account is completely free, so check it out if you are trying to get feedback from your visitors.

nice story for beginning
These guys are right down the road from me, I see the sign on the building every time I drive into San Fran. I was wondering what they do.
Also, the kissmetrics twitter stream is full of really useful links. Totally recommend following.
Ya I too accept that people spam anything. That no 91 9999263896 is from India. I am an Indian and I feel bad when I see spammers from India.
Spammers are from every where my dear friend.
But interesting thing about Indian spamming is they also include manual and to control this kind of spamming you have to work hard.
Nice Review Daniel. Thanks
I really don’t like people from India do these types of spam .. !
Thanks for this great review.

Do you like Nigerian people to send you $950000000 lollzz
Wow..seems like a good useful tool..
It is important to get feedback from visitors and have some knowledge of their views..
After all, it is your visitors that you want to satisfy!
Awesome! I will start using this right away..
I saw it somewhere before you mentioned it here. I was reluctant to try it. I am using shared hosting server and wonder if this will increase more HTTP request and make my site slower.
Thanks for sharing!!!
I saw it too somewhere. I tried it, but because I was using some kind of toolbar, it would not work. The toolbar isn’t on my site any more (Meebo bar) and I haven’t tried it since.
Bu thanks for the review. Maybe I should try it again?
What was the reason of removing Meebo bar ?
I did a poll on it, and my visitors think it clutter my design too much with it.
great.. thanks for sharing this very good service
Did you call that numbers …
Its nice to see that Neil’s new widget will help frustrated and desperate people to show their frustration … lollzz
That’s very nice. I’m always interested on what people have to say about my site.
I will try this out.
Thanks
Glen
Am implementing this on my website for sure,
Gives great feedback from readers!
