Are You A Member of the Problogger Community Forum?

I was browsing through my RSS feed this morning when a post from BloggingTips caught my attention. It was titled: Problogger Community Launched.

I knew that Darren was working on a private community to be hosted on the Problogger.com domain, and it looks like the doors just opened today.

I went to sign-up straight away, as I am sure it will be an awesome place for bloggers to get together and network. The current cost is $1.95 monthly, which is symbolic price. It basically keeps the trolls out, ensuring the quality of the discussions.

The place is already very active. When I logged in there were 21 members online, despite being very early in the U.S..

Anyway check it out and consider becoming a member. Given the value that the forum will have for its members, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Darren raising the price to $19 monthly or more in some months, and if you get in now you lock your price at $1.95.

thanks for writing about it Daniel – and for joining!

Signed up pretty early this morning and I’m liking it so far. The real value will be when the forum is more popular, but there are some decent discussions already and it feels much more intimate than a regular forum.

    @Darren, my pleasure.

@David, yeah I am sure within a week the place will be rocking.

Will have a look and see if it’s for me. While the price is not much for users earning more, it makes no sense to newbies with no real income yet.

I’ve received an email from Darren about this too, I have registered but yet to make payment to access the forum. $1.95 is really a killer price, but I’m quite busy with my examination this few days so I’ll be signing up after this.

Signed up last night. I think it’s got the potential to be a really great community. Darren’s backing will give it the head start but he’s really laid the ground work for a great learning and networking environment. Looking forward to using it.

I will sign up soon for forum. $1.95 is surely killer price.

Ya I signed up a few minutes after the emails were sent out, and already there were dozens of posts after 10 minutes.

So far, it’s a very active community (something not many blogging forums have accomplished). Everyone is very helpful, and there are a variety of skill levels there.

Good to see you’re a member Daniel.

I’m a member already, though I’ve unwillingly broken the rules by selling (I didn’t read the terms & conditions first) and have been slapped with a 5 days ban….pity, sometimes fine print is easy to ignore and it catches up with you later. So will have to wait until my ban is lifted. It’s a good community none the less…

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I just joined and put you down as the referral. It should be a fun forum to belong to.

    Best,
    Bob

It’s a great place for a bargain. I wonder though on how it would affect other blogging forums. What do you think?

    Hi Daniel,
I just wanted to say thanks for letting us know about it. It is an amazing opportunity to learn so much more stuff. Sort of reminds me of the OP forum – just bigger.

2nd place I have seen this might have to shell out the money. Seem like some a good oppertunity.

you need members first for building a forum,
i don’t know if it’s right to charge someone money for a bland new forum.

  17. satrap on October 16th, 2009 5:33 am

you know while i get the point about keeping junks out , i kind of disagree with the whole idea of charging people for joining your forum. i think its just another way for him to make money. but again its just my opinion and i also have much respact for darren and i know he will be helpful to members with the experience and the experties he has.

Darren is a blogger expert. I believe he can help his members in his private forum. However, for the price of $1.95 per month may keep some newbies outside the door.
