My old position also was an SEO for a progressive web development company and I got some really great results for all of my clients over the course of 3 yrs. The top thing I would say to do is(as weird as it sounds) is be "simply ignorant" but "complexly intelligent" . Just be simple and write to capture an audience and the rest will come naturally. Be aware that mass linking will not help you but linking to pages that are similar to yours in nature/topic will. Also, don't waste your time on those sites that have a GPR of less than 4/10. Go to your local news' website and post on their blogs with your URL. These sites tend to be very valuable resources both to human views and Google bots so take the time to read and then write intelligently to the post.

There is so much hype about Search Engine Optimization out there that it's enough to make you bash your head into your monitor repeatedly. Learn the basics concepts(title tags, content is king, relevant linking, updating frequently, search engine submitting, and that's IT) If you try to do too much, you will hit the point of diminishing returns and wasting your time!

I've implemented all of my topics here at http://www.OrlandoCondo411.com and in less than 3 months, i'm ave. 70 uniques and over 300 page views per day(Not to mention a 3/10 and climbing Google PageRank)

Again, write well and keep your SEO to a minimum and you're reap what you sew.

Hope this helps a bit for all that are reading.

Thanks,
