Uncoverr.com: A Resource for Web Designers and Developers

Lachy G., an old time Daily Blog Tips reader, contacted me to let me know that he launched a website aimed at web designers and web developers, called Uncoverr.com.

What is the site all about? It basically features book reviews, articles and interviews about web development in general. If you browse the books section, in fact, you will find a big list of books for Javascript, PHP, AJAX, ASP and so on.

He also published a recent interview with Chris Garrett. Here is a quote from it:

Can you talk about the time commitment in writing a book, was there much research, or have you always been able to just publish your personal views and opinions on the various topics you have written about?

I think everyone underestimates how long a book will take. Not just the writing either, the whole process takes *months*. You can never just splurge your thoughts out if you want it to be a top quality book, you must be sure of what you are saying is both true and will work for the reader. With publishing online you can send it out and correct or tweak based on feedback. You don’t have that luxury in print so everything must be checked, checked and checked.

Overall I think it is a nice idea, and if they manage to keep adding fresh content like interviews and book reviews, it will be a nice resource for web developers. Check it out.

    Hello Daniel,
I have been reading this blog for a few days now and I have been liking the past posts. But frankly speaking I didn’t like this post. You are ranked as 2nd most popular Money making blog ang writing posts like this one makes yours fans like me a bit disappointed. I am not complaining. I liked uncoverr a lot. I just want to say that your visitors like you posting more about making money blogging and you are just awesome in that.

Sorry for the negative comment but as an active reader of this blog I like to let you know what is less liked and what is more.

Thanks for keeping up this historic blog.

    Regards
    Laksh

@Bill, I believe they just review books and products.

@Laksh, no problems I appreciate any feedback.

Those “plug” posts are the exception here, not the rule. Sometimes my friends come up with interesting things though which might also be useful for the DBT readers, and on those times I am happy to give them a mention.

I never mention any website that is not relevant for bloggers in general though.

@laksh dbt I believe has never been a make money online blog and generally its a blogging tips blog. You have a point though in saying that..

    Interesting to know about Uncoverr.

But the link at “He also published a recent interview with Chris Garrett” in the above post is not working.

A prime example of what happens when you sit on your hands and put things off. That’s a great idea and I was going to do something along the same line over two years ago. I even registered ReviewSwap.com (parked) to put it on. I’m glad someone is doing it.

hhmm… I like the idea of this blog. I think somehow it is true that a person who writes a book cannot do things because it is needed like coming up with an idea because you badly need to finish your book..Everything has to come naturally. But facts varies on what kind of book your writing. I also think that somehow you have to be good in delivering your ideas. Sometimes readers need that because if you’re not then the book will just turn to a waste.
