I was reading through this series in order, but the title of this one (Part 7) caught my eye.

I'm new to Wordpress and have recently set up a local testing environment using XAMPP and am beginning to see the potential of Wordpress for any site.

All the talk our there is of using Wordpress to produce a CMS website with or without a blog. Most of the pages can be static but you still have the power of Wordpress behind you.

There is a lot of support out there for anything associated with Wordpress and posts like this one are a great source of encouragement and technical information.

Thanks for the post and thanks for the series... I'll go back to Part 2 now.

I’ve never had a static website, but one person I do know that uses a blog to showcase his portfolio is David Airey, and I’m sure that setting up a blog has extremely increased his products and services.
