Sorry the two posts but how do i get the free keyword trial if i do not have a card applicable to the process. I do not own a Visa, or any of the other cards they accept, i do not want to buy it and would only like a free 7 day trial first.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you suggest using a keyword research tool to brainstorm ideas. When I first started using Wordtracker I was, well amazed and astounded are probably too strong. What's a better word? Enlightened? It revealed things I never imagined people would type into a search engine. I'm a paid subscriber to Wordtracker so I don't know about this next thing for sure. But isn't the trial version significantly limited in the number of results it returns for each query? I've found my paid subscription to be extremely useful. But I wonder how useful a limited trial would be to those who are looking to it for quick free results rather than what it really is; a dangling carrot. Don't get me wrong, I'd highly recommend everyone check it out. But if the trial actually is limited, I'd suggest keeping expectations in check and realize a trial is, as you say, an evaluation "to see if it would be worth your money."

@Luciano, yes there is, I will try to cover it in the future.

It is really simple though, just google the keyword inside quotation marks :) .

The usefulness of a paid service is that they do that for thousands of keywords, and present all the results grouped together.

It is like a email autoresponders. Could you do what they do manually? Sure. But it would take a lot of time.

Hi Daniel,
Is there a way to manually estimate the competitiveness of a keyword (without using paid services)?
Of course, the paid services give you the convenience, but I wonder if that would be possible, even if less convenient... That would give a good blog post for your blog, too...
