Top 25 Celebrity Blogs
It is time to cover another niche on our Top 25 series. Celebrity blogs are among the most popular on the Internet. People just love gossip. As a result, they tend to receive a lot of traffic, and to be very profitable.
I would guess that the lower blogs on our list earn at least $5,000 monthly, while the top ones should be over the $50,000 monthly figure.
Keep in mind that the Top 25 takes into consideration only objective factors. The maximum score is 40, and the details about our algorithm can be found below the list.

The list is quite different from expectation like digital inspiration ie labnol.org and pro blogger .
Where these are in the listing position ?
Nice list!
Perez Hilton is always at the top
Suresh, I am not sure what you talking about.
These are all celebrity blogs. Digital inspiration is a tech blog, while problogger is a “make money online” blog.
celeb market blogs are tappped out
perez hilton makes a killing with advertisement
Yeah..Perez hilton maybe always not on top but no one knows when.
what do you mean not always on top?
There was also something similar recently in the finance niche: http://www.harringtonbrooks.co.....nce-blogs/
@Glen Allsopp, looks like they copied my algorithm
.
why do you have technorati up there?
There’s going to come a day when the people who read these celebrity blogs are going to become fed up with their inability to post truth about the famous people they report on. Currently, these blogs are mostly full of hearsay and blogger commentary, and that brand of reporting is often absent of any factual information. So if the content is wrapped up in guesses and assumptions as to what’s going on in a celebrity’s life, then why read it? There’s no value in false information.
The Nostradamus in me says that these celebrity blogs are going to transition into REAL celebrity blogs. As in… The celebrities themselves are going to have to maintain their own blogs if they want to be able to better control the conversations that are being had about them. Yes, I understand that a celebrity writing their own blog could still use their platform to lie about things in an effort protect certain parts of their life. But ultimately, who would you trust more when hearing information about a celebrity’s life? Perez Hilton or Paris Hilton? (Sorry, bad example
But do you see what I’m saying? Personally, I’m going to place more trust in the person who is actually living out their own life, instead of some kid who fired up Wordpress and decided he wanted to be a celebrity blogger.
The bottom line is this… Celebrity blogs written by gossipers are on their way out / Celebrity blogs written by celebrities are on their way in.
It just makes sense.
If you want to hear me rant on a little bit more about the subject of celebrity blogging, I encourage you to check out a couple of my recent articles…

Why not compare all of these blog through compete.com as well?
@Alex, because technorati is a measure of backlinks and link popularity.
@Jaan, because Alexa is still the most reliable traffic metric out there. Compete behaves weirdly when you have non-us sites involved.
Alexa is a reliable traffic measure? Hardly. Plenty of tools can create a false Alexa profile for any website.
@Jaan, still it is the best metric we have. Why do you think some advertising networks use it? They are putting money on the table, and using Alexa as a decision factor.
I know it is not perfect, but it is what we got. After the change in the algorithm, most people recognized that the number got even closer to the real situation also.
It’s no surprise Perez is #1.. his site is a daily favourite of mine, along with TMZ.
Why is Valleywag on the list? That is not a celebrity blog - and even if it was classed as one, which it isn’t - Gawker should be above it…
It’s interesting to see that Perez Hilton edged out TMZ. However, it should be said that TMZ does earn a lot of AOL traffic since AOL recirculates a lot of it on their proprietary Welcome Screen — something that Perez Hilton and others don’t have the ability to do.
Would I classify ValleyWag as a “celebrity” blog? I don’t know, I find them tailored for more tech/geek gossip than pop-culture celebrities. Then again, Gawker Media has been blurring those lines on their blogs lately.
Good Post!

@Samuel, Valleywag covers tech celebrities, so it goes on the list.
As for Gawker being above, well, the ranking is based on objective factors, it is not our opinion.
I don’t think people will ever get fed up with gossip and dirt. It’s what drives the media sales. I have heard people for years talk about the very same thing when it comes to the gossip you hear on TV and on the newsstands. But yet the TV show networks and magazine companies continue to thrive, and we all check them out once in, a while we are at home, or while standing in line at the local Wal-Mart. Why do we like it? I don’t know. Most of us lead average, normal lives, and maybe we are looking for a little excitement without the risk. We let others do it for us, that’s what celebrities are for. Haha. Thanks for the list and the insight into what can be used to make money on the internet. Celebrity sites!!
I agree maybe take a look at compete.com’s numbers and maybe try quantcast. Just a thought!
Perez Hilton is such a jerk — and he doesn’t have a problem with blatantly swiping other people’s materials while not giving them credit.
Example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/a.....235837052/
Tacky, tacky, tacky!
the only time perez is a top…
I also visit perez, the truth is that we all love gossip, that’s the human nature
Nice list. I am visiting some of those blogs.
I need to work harder, so in few months one of my celeb’s blogs will be listed up there.
Interesting. I’m surprised Perez Hilton is above TMZ. I figured TMZ was the king.
I like to suggest everyone a celebrity image gallery which is free, unique and really very good.
Those who want to have a little bit of entertainment in between their work, can take a break and watch freeuniqueimages.com. Unique thing
about this site is that…only full body decent images of more than 200 celebrities are there with full emphasis on great figure. There are
RSS, forums, blogs & chat features also where you can connect with each others.
A Huge collection of images in a sensual sitting pose. Site contains Image galleries for more than 200 celebrities. Special attention given to beautiful celebrities having sexy legs and great body.
I think the market is becoming saturated with these celebrity blogs but there will always be a demand.
People love a bit of celeb gossip… I know I do!!! But it’s all about not taking it all too seriously. Focusing on our own lives so to speak!
Very interesting list.
what about mediatakeout.com? that is the website that i visit faithfully. then again, it is the #1 visited black website in the world. we obviously don’t count.
