Daily Blog Tips Guest Post Guidelines

By Daniel Scocco

I get many emails from people who want to know if I accept guest posts on Daily Blog Tips, and if that is the case, what are the guidelines. I figured that it would be easier to write the guidelines in a post and just refer every one here.

So the answer to the first question is: Yes, I do accept guest posts. Currently I publish two guest posts per week, usually on Mondays and Wednesdays. Below you will find all the details about the process.

What kind of content do you accept?

Anything that is useful for my readers is good content for a guest post here. It can be related to blogging, Internet marketing in general, and it can also be derived from your own personal experiences. There is no minimum length for your post, but usually the guest posts have over 400 words.

General Guidelines

  • Your post must be original and must have never been published before on the Internet
  • You agree to not publish the post anywhere else (i.e., in your own blog or as a guest post in other blogs)
  • You can include one link in the byline, which will be displayed at the bottom of the post

Formatting Guidelines

  • Please format your guest post as an HTML document, so that I can copy and paste it into the WordPress HTML editor.
  • Use H2 or H4 tags for sub-headings.
  • Make sure to include the author byline at the bottom.

Submission Guidelines

If you have a post that meets the guidelines above, you can send it to me on the email daniel@dailyblogtips.com. Please include the post in the body of the email itself, or as a .doc attachment.

I check and respond to all guest post submissions twice a month, so it might take up to two weeks before I get back to you. This doesn’t mean I have rejected your post though, and even in case of rejection you should get an answer from me, explaining the reason.

This is great news. I was also trying to find a link on what your guidelines are for guest posting.

Now that you have mentioned it here, I can start hitting my notes for a maiden guest post submission.

    Thank you Daniel.

Good information, good content, I like the way of writing. You have described point to point information!
I also have a news related Gurgaon, M3M Merlin located in the heart of Gurgaon in Sector 167, bang on on the golf-course extension road and near to the Ansal Escencia. IITL Nimbus The Golden Palm Noida Expressway is just 10 minutes drive from DND flyover, Secto-18 Atta Market, and 5 min.

After the grand success of Golf Estate in Gurgaon, M3M India is soon launching M3M Merlin in Sec 67 of Gurgaon. M3M Merlin Project is located at sector 67 Gurgaon. M3M merlin sector 67 Gurgaon offers 500 Units spread over 15 acres making it a very low density project in Gurgaon. M3M Merlin has a well-developed vicinity i.e. all the facilities are available within 3-4 km range.
M3M Merlin Gurgaon would include 3-4 Bhk luxury apartments with best amenities and specifications at a very competitive price. The apartments are modern and youthful and are themed on Singapore’s luxury residencies.

I have always wanted to guest post here on your blog. The closest I ever got was posting a comment. It’s not that I’m afraid it’ll get rejected but with so many articles on your blog its kind of hard to know if your had already written about that subject.

I am a subscriber to your mailing list and I have enjoyed all of them, maybe one day I’ll submit one and hope it gets approve. Thanks Dan.

The problem I have is that guest make their comments, and the comment have nothing to do with the content on my site, they just want to say great article, or like your theme, or they just cut to the chase and write a add for their web site with a link, how can I stop that. I end up just deleting it or spamming the post. Don’t people realize we both have to benefit? Also how or to what extent will google’s sniffer penalize you for paid links?

    Hello Daniel,

I hope you don’t mind me asking a sincere question. Your guest posting guidelines were used as an example in a post on how to create guidelines at menwithpens.ca. I truly want to understand your thinking on this. Why would a blogger specifically prohibit the proper use of anchor text within a guest post?

If someone wishes to provide you with excellent content that contains a relevant link that benefits a deserving small local or online business or another blogger why is that a bad thing?

I know that traditional article marketing sites and online media sites prohibit links in the body of articles. Those restrictions are intended to increase advertising income. They favor Big Brands that can afford to buy advertising and hurt those who can not.

That type of policy and consumer support of multi-national Corporations are what have created the current economic decline. IMHO, the solution is to support independent, high quality businesses.

I actively encourage bloggers to write about and link to their favorite small businesses in their own blogs and accept guest posts in support of deserving businesses in multiple blogs I manage.

Proper use of anchor text assists the search engines in returning the best results, point the way to companies that offer better goods and servces, generate more business for those who most need it, and hurts no one.

I would be very interested in your thoughts on this topic and have subscribed to followup comments via e-mail.

The “no SEOd anchor text” part refers to byling links. I guess I should have explained better. The only thing I don’t want is people saying they blog at “cheap car parts” or “how to lose weight fast.”

I am letting everyone know I am interested in writing a guest post here so I am accountable to you all!

This may sound weird to most – and it is.

I’ve been always thinking of writing this guest post without actually doing it.

    That’s why!!

  • Darshan Chande

Yeah. That makes sense. I would also like to guest post on your blog.. LOL.. But I am afraid our blogs are completely different in subject matter 😛 Just kidding!

  • Shauna@BreathingProsperity.com

    How efficient!

I’ve not done a lot of guest posting, but having followed a guest poster here (Erica Douglass) and seeing how much value it provides for both you and her, I see it’s a great concept.

In order to provide value for you and your readers (and so I can enjoy your content), I’ll be sure and look around before submitting anything. Thanks for the useful guidelines, and continued success to you!

    ~ Shauna
